Facilities
When is the clubhouse open?
During the Season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) the clubhouse is open on Sundays from 12-8pm (closing time varies). The clubhouse may also be open on Friday nights and Saturdays depending on what events are occurring. Additionally, arrangements can be made to have the clubhouse open at other times. If a club-member would like to use the facilities for a larger group, arrangements to open the bar can also be made. During the Off-season, the clubhouse is open on Sundays at 1pm.
Does the club have showers and changing rooms?
Yes. The showerhouse adjacent to the pool has men’s and ladies’ changing rooms, restrooms and shower facilities.
Pool & Lifeguard
What are the pool hours?
The pool is open daily from mid/late June through Labor Day. Certified lifeguards are on duty from 12 Noon – 6 pm daily, weather permitting. Swimming is “At Your Own Risk” and is strongly discouraged when lifeguards are not on duty.
Is the pool chlorinated?
Who monitors water quality?
The pool is treated daily with liquid chlorine to control algae and bacteria. The water is tested weekly by an outside lab to ensure safe swimming conditions. The pool and bath house are inspected by the Roxbury Health Department each year prior to the opening of the pool.
When does the pool typically open?
The pool is usually open full time by the time area schools let out.
Where does the pool water come from?
The water in the pool is from an underground well located on the SSC property.
Gate & Guests
Can I bring guests?
Yes! Someone can come to the SSC up to five times in a season as a guest. We require that members be on the SSC premise with their guest.
What are the guest fees?
Adults are $8; children 3-12 are $4; and children under 2 are Free. A discounted book of 10 adult guest passes is available for $65. Guest pass books are available from the Permanent and Annual Dues Collectors as well as from whomever is on gate duty.
Field Rentals
Rentals
The SSC's fields can be used for a variety of sporting and other events. Renting these fields entitles the organization to use our picnic grove with covered pavilion, men and women bathrooms with shower facilities, and parking lots; all at no additional charge. Our natural grass athletic area measures 360 ft. long and 300 ft. wide.
